We posted last week about how to avoid the iOS Patreon fees, but we realized that it’s really tough to even see/understand how iOS subscriptions are affecting Patreon income. So this is a quick guide on how to see your iOS subscription revenue in the Patreon dashboard.
Patreon creator dashboard > Payouts > Withdraw: Click the “View details” link next to your total balance and you’ll see a pop up that details how much of your payout is going through the iOS holding process. Reminder: the iOS holding period is 75 days. Unfortunately, Patreon does not currently tell you where in the process your payments are though.
Patreon creator dashboard > Insights > Earnings tab: Go to the Monthly earnings details table, click on the down arrow next to the gross revenue for a given month and a little pop up will show you how much of your income for the month is from iOS v Web.
This same screen also shows “App store fee” which is the cut Apple is taking that month.
Patreon creator dashboard > Audience > Relationship manager: Click the gear icon on the right hand side at the top of the table and make sure “Subscription source” is checked. Now you should be able to see which patrons are subscribed via iOS v Patreon direct. You can use Filters to see only iOS users or only Patreon direct users.
Patreon creator dashboard > Payouts > Documents: Download “Member transaction history”: So this csv shows you each individual payment you received and the “Creator iOS app store fee” shows how much of the Member charge amount went to Apple. Caveat: This csv only shows transactions that are fully posted, so I think you have to wait 75 days to see iOS payments listed here. Inconvenient.
